Liquid porous: scientists succeed in developing fluids contain permanent gaps inside!

In a research paper published this week in the journal Nature Nature, researchers announced that they have succeeded in the development of means of modulating the molecules so that contain "holes" or "gaps" in it. To zoom in more, you can imagine a sponge liquid ripple as water! Something amazing is not it ?! What is a genius way that made them so? In spite of the splendor of the idea; what its uses on the ground?

Says James Stewart, one of the participants in this study, it said in a statement: "The materials that contain permanent spaces, or pores, are extremely important materials technically. Where they are used in a broad spectrum of products ranging from plastic bottles to the petroleum products industry. With this, and until very recently, it has taken this material porosity of the material only solid body. What we've done is we've created a special liquid, where we have re-shape design molecules that make up the liquid until the liquid does not fill all the space in the structure. However the presence of voids in the structure, we discovered the amazing ability to dissolve large amounts of gas in an unprecedented way. "

In an interview published in Nature magazine Nature, James described the process of building segment, making a cage of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and with no spaces or pores between them. These "cages" are dissolved later in another liquid or solvent. Because the solvent molecules much larger than the cages, and can not be present within or between "bars", cage molecules were able to maintain the empty pores, and remain ready and waiting to snap up smaller, such as the imprisonment of gas molecules.

Down liquid capable of gas absorption that is a tremendous step forward in the field of carbon sequestration techniques; it is an integrated package of technical innovations designed to keep carbon dioxide levels (a key factor in the greenhouse greenhouse induced climate) in the Earth's atmosphere within the normal rates warming ; by reducing emissions.

James says that we still have a few years of study and research before it is revolutionary liquid test in chemical processes such as sniper carbon (or sniper methane, another gas to the greenhouse effect), but the innovation of liquid porous is a first step amazing on this road!
